Sode de Kiiteru

Someone who has spent so long standing just behind everyone else. In "Sode de Kiiteru", Mayu steps to the center with her deep, smoky contralto.

"Sode de Kiiteru" is an original song by Hagane Sakura 鋼の桜, blending Japanese idol ballad and unplugged chamber pop with close-miked upright piano, nylon-string guitar, cello, viola, upright bass, restrained brushed drums and intimate female harmonies.

The song is about someone who has spent so long standing just behind everyone else.

Mayu takes the lead with her deep, smoky contralto, carrying the song with a quiet and intimate delivery. Rather than building toward a traditional dramatic climax, her voice remains restrained and close - allowing every breath, hesitation and small change in confidence to become part of the story. Hikari, Sora, Yui and Hokori sing along with her.
